Important Update On Pet Microchip Registration

Updates

For many years, Essex Middle River Veterinary Center (EMRVC) has worked with Save This Life for pet microchip registration. However, Save This Life has ceased operations, and their microchips can no longer be searched in any available database.

We understand that this may raise concerns, but we are here to help ensure your pet remains protected.

Our New Microchip Registration Partner: PetLink

To continue providing the best possible service, EMRVC has partnered with PetLink, a trusted leader in pet identification and reunification for over 30 years. PetLink offers a variety of services to help ensure your pet’s microchip remains a lifelong link to you, including microchip registration, GPS tracking, lost and found services, and QR tags for added safety.

What This Means for Your Pet’s Microchip Registration

If your pet has a Save This Life microchip, you have two simple options to re-register and keep their information up to date:

Option 1: Register with PetLink
We highly recommend registering with PetLink, as this is the new database that EMRVC will be working with. PetLink is currently offering a promotion where Save This Life microchips can be registered for just $4.99 using the code STL499. Simply visit petlink.net and follow the prompts to complete the registration process. This fee includes lifetime registration within the PetLilnk database and unlimited information updates.

Option 2: Register for Free
If you prefer a completely free option, you can register your pet’s microchip with FreePetChipRegistry.com. Simply create an account and add your pet’s details to ensure they are safely registered.

What if I don’t know my pet’s microchip number?

No worries! If you have our Pet Page App, you can easily find your pet’s microchip number by selecting their profile. If you don’t have the app, feel free to reach out to us via text or email, and we will gladly provide you with your pet’s microchip number. If you would like to have your pet scanned for their microchip, please give us a call to schedule a visit to EMRVC.

How can I check if my pet’s microchip is already registered?

If you’re unsure whether your pet’s microchip is properly registered, you can use the AAHA’s Microchip Lookup tool here: AAHA Microchip Search. Simply enter your pet’s microchip number to find out what database it’s registered with.

Your pet’s safety is our top priority, and we want to make sure they are always protected and easily reunited if they are ever lost. If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your continued trust in us to care for your pet(s).
